At Toledo Day Nursery, children develop positive relationships and and enjoy learning experiences that encourage them to think. Our classrooms are safe, beautiful spaces staffed by highly qualified teachers who recognize children’s unique needs.

We encourage the development of each child’s belief in his or her self. Children are taught to trust and to demonstrate tolerance and compassion for others. As fellow students, they learn how to problem solve, collaborate, create and communicate. These skills will provide the tools needed for their next classroom and for the most important classroom of all – their life.

Teacher Spotlight

Carly Hardman Bio Picture Carly Hardman Jefferson Center In the process of completing her degree locally at Owens Community College, Carly studied education at the University of Iowa. She recently Joined Toledo Day Nursery to teach in our toddler classroom. She has a son, Lucas, who attends here, and her interests outside of work include athletic pusuits like softball and volleyball.
Tanitra Smith Tanitra Smith Stickney Center With a Bachelors Degree in Education from Bowling Green State University, Tanitra has been with Toledo Day Nursery for several years. She says she enjoys working with the children in the Head Start program at Stickney and putting smiles on their faces. Alway expanding her horizons, she is also working on a Masters Degree in social work.
Monica Cardenas Bio Picture Monica Cardenas Mosaic Center With four years of experience in early childhood education, Monica is working on her associate degree. She brings the advantage of being a preschool bilingual teacher to the Mosiac Center which serves the Hispanic community. She loves the staff she works with and enjoys seeing her students every day. Leisure pursuits include time with friends and family and traveling. Monica says she wants to see all fifty states before she’s fifty!
